Photo Gallery | Turkeys invade the South Hill
Neighbors on the South Hill were surprised to find a flock of turkeys in a fenced backyard on Monday afternoon. The rafter of 14 made their way into the yard just south of Wilson Elementary School in search of bird seed that was scattered across the lawn.
A neighborhood cat, initially curious about the birds, fled the scene after he saw the crowd that greeted him. The turkeys eventually moved on searching the area for more food. Neighbors report that the birds left a lot of "presents" behind for the homeowners, making quite the mess.
