The Friends of Manito (TFM) will host a tropical plant sale and orchid lecture on March 2 in the Manito Meeting Room east of the Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park.
The Friends of Manito present a free presentation on the care of orchids and other different varieties at the Manito Meeting Room on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10 a.m.
Mary Wall & Dr. Doug Corpron will demonstrate orchid propagation, planting, care, and the diversities of these stunning plant. Free and open to the public but space is limited. Pre-register by calling 456-8038. www.thefriendsofmanito.org
Tropical Plant Sale
TIME: 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.LOCATION: East of Gaiser Conservatory in the Poly house East of Manito Meeting Room. TFM opens their polyhouse to shop an amazing selection of tropical plants for your home. Shoppers are invited to peruse Orchids, easy, dry climate plants, like Aloes and Agaves and several cultivars of dramatic elephant ears. There is a banana tree that is root hardy to the Spokane area. Collectors will find lots of unusual plants to contemplate. Several gorgeous, already planted, decorative containers will be available for purchase. These can be grown inside and then transition to the patio when the weather warms. All proceeds from the sale benefit Manito Park.
