Unique food drive collects 2,000 lbs of food | Community Spirit
Volunteers from Affinity Living Community on Spokane’s South Hill held a unique food drive a couple of weeks ago and their efforts paid off. On Monday, Affinity brought the ton of food raised at the Drive By Food Drive to Second Harvest Food Bank.
During the food drive, people could drive up and drop off their food donations without even getting out of their cars. To sweeten the deal, Affinity volunteers thanked them for their donations with hot coffee and fresh baked cookies.
Affinity collected food all day long on November 21st at two locations. The South Hill Affinity collected 1,422 pounds of food while their sister property collected 1,065 pounds. Volunteers proudly dropped off their donations on Monday morning at Second Harvest Food Bank.
